How to play Memory Pairs

Choose a round of Memory Pairs and settle into its rules. Match all eight pairs. Your result is the number of two-card turns used. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls. Compare the starting position with the example in the Guide. Use the example below to understand a decision.

Read before acting

Read one step at a time and try it on the playing area. Match the instruction to the control you use. Keep the objective visible.

Your goal

Match all eight pairs. Your result is the number of two-card turns used. Read that aim before choosing your first action. Return to the instructions when a step is unclear.

Step by step

  1. Turn over any face-down card.
  2. Choose a second card. Equal symbols stay visible.
  3. Unequal cards turn back after a short pause.
  4. Continue until every pair is visible.

Controls

Use the on-screen controls with a mouse or touch. Keep the playing area visible while using these controls. Look at the feedback after the action.

A useful example

Turn over one card, remember its position, then choose a second. A matching pair stays found; a mismatch is hidden again. Your next round may have a different position, so inspect it before acting. Choose a deliberate next step.

Watch out for this

You cannot turn a third card while a mismatched pair is still being shown. Compare the situation with the worked example. Read one step at a time and try it on the playing area. Match the instruction to the control you use.
