How to play Pinball

Bring your attention to one round of Pinball. Reach 1,500 points before three balls drain. Check the relevant rule before repeating a move. Keep the instructions close while learning this activity. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls.

Original compact two-flipper table with three bumpers.

A careful first round

Before your first action, say what you are trying to achieve. Then compare the result with the goal. Keep the objective visible.

Your goal

Reach 1,500 points before three balls drain. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. Take a moment to understand the current position.

Step by step

  1. Start to launch.
  2. Use the two flippers.
  3. Bumper collisions score.
  4. Launch remaining balls after a drain.

Controls

Hold Left/Right flipper or arrow keys. Start / pause and New round are available. Keep the playing area visible while using these controls. Use the visible help when you are unsure of the next input.

A useful example

Activate the flipper when the ball reaches its active surface. Your next round may have a different position, so inspect it before acting. Keep the game’s format in mind.

Watch out for this

A drained ball cannot be rescued. Check the rule before repeating the action. Take enough time to read a new position. If a game has a timer, learn its controls first rather than searching for them during the round.
